That would work! However, for the guy who is buying ammunition the Blackout would be cheaper to buy. The ammunition is about 1/2 price the .308 Subsonic stuff.

yeah but the savage blackout is $800+ and only in the 20".

now i'd take a 527CZ or a NEF in the blackout today.

i cant get any love for the micro 7. too takticool.

give me a plain-jane miniX action and a 300ACC 16.5" threaded BBL dropped in a woodland Mcmillan and a 1.5-5 VX3...

WOOF!

Midway says they will get 300 blk barrels for Savage from ER Shaw in June. Less than $150.

It would hold more allure were it left-handed and with a stainless barreled action. Basically it looks like a response to Ruger's short-barreled rifle. It might be even better were it in 358 Winchester or 338 Federal.

I still say theres no sense in buying a 300BLK in an action thats the same length as a 308.
How many nonreloaders are going to play with a caliber like a 300BLK?
make me a micro action WITHOUT a 90 degree bolt lift and integral scope mounts like the CZ/DALEY/MAUSER in 300. Med profile, 16" threaded BBL and a detatchable mini or AR mag.

Mossberg MVR would be a good start for a build.
The CZ loses points because the bolt lift is so high your going to beat the chit out of any scope with the bolt handle on any thing not jacked up 2" off the action.

The truth is that NO company is going to produce a true mini action for the 223, 7.62x39 and 300 BLK when thats the only 3 calibers they caan make the rifle in and sell.

And no body short of someone with too much money to play with is going to waste time and money to build a 30 caliber short in an action that already fits a 30 caliber Med.
The round is cool, no doubt. Great idea for the black rifle.
But unless someone unearths a assload of sako vixen actions I'm relegated to the sideline on it.
And I have wanted one since inception, I just cant get love for the waste factor of the build.

I think the 338 Fed would make more sense. I guess the tea leaves say the 338 fed is too obscure.

They are importing the Mini rifles again, perhaps if you get on them they may start chambering the 300 for you? I would buy one too.

I have a mini rifle that I never shoot which has been tempting me for a rebarrel. The darn thing is so accurate I can bear it though.

How 'bout a mini-mauser in 35 Rem? Sounds sweet to me. A 250gr RN at 1050 aught to poke piggies plenty.

Interesting. Love the Savages and made my longest hog kill with an old, old 110. 413 yards.
I have three of the inexpensive Stevens that I have for "hog" rifles. The "extra 2" of barrels has never been an issue.
Amazingly accurate, dependable and effective.
Two .270s. And a .223 One I have restocked to a lefty stock.
The other 2 are painted for grins and have never failed me.

Good luck in your search.

Neat idea, except for the threaded barrel, IMO

Savage dropped the .300 BLK because of accuracy problems.
