I know this has been beat to death many times; I've read many of the threads but I just can't remember. Searched for them too, but could not find any.
Regardless, I'm trying to work up a load for my 7 rem mag using 139gr SST bullets. What powders and primers have provided good accuracy?
I have a little H-1000 left, but results for me have only been mediocre. Looking for the proven performer(s) for this bullet.
TIA

In my lates 7mm Magnum I've gotten great results with bullets in the 140-grain class with Reloder 25 and Ramshot Magnum. Both accuracy and velocity are top-notch.

IMR 4831 has always treated me well with lighter bullets. Same with IMR4350. Used to shoot really well with the 139 Hornady SP but never could get the SST to shoot decent in my rifle.
Today I use IMR 7828 and H1000, but I only shoot 160s in my 7mm Rem Mag.

Rel 22 usually makes them pep as well. I always got more velocity that than the 4831's in the rifles I loaded for.

Thanks all for the responses. Any thoughts on what charges to start with?
Specifically for Mule Deer: enjoyed your recent article in SSM on hunting sharpies.

I'm loading 72.0 grains of R25 and 76.0 grains of Magnum. I believe both are the listed maximum loads, or close to it.
Glad you liked the sharptail piece!

My 7 Rem. Mag. really liked IMR 4831. It would shoot the 140 and 160 into half inch groups. I tried H 4831 and just wasn't as good.

I've only tested the 139g GMX in my 7mm RM and Reloder 22 gave me good results. Ramshot Magnum, Reloder 22, IMR 7828, Reloder 25, and Ramshot Hunter would the powders I'd personally reach for first (and probably in that order, although I never tried Magnum with the GMX). Here's what QuickLOAD thinks. USE THIS LOAD DATA AT YOUR OWN RISK.Cartridge : 7 mm Rem. Mag.
Bullet : .284, 139, Hornady SST InterLock 28202
Useable Case Capaci: 75.293 grain H2O = 4.889 cm
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 3.290 inch = 83.57 mm

Predicted Data for Indicated Charges of the Following Powders.

For the 139-140 grain bullet I use RL-19 and IMR 4350-4831 powder.

R22 and H4831 have worked with 140s in every 7RM I've loaded for.

Another vote here for IMR4831 with the lighter bullets in the 7mm RM.
I was hoarding when hoarding wasn't cool.

Perhaps I pulled the trigger too soon. I was in a hurry to take advantage of some range time yesterday afternoon so I bought a pound of Re-25 on Mule Deer's recommendation (Ramshot Magnum was not available at the store I visited). Lots of votes came in later for 4831. Thanks to all for the input.
Regardless, Re-25 provided some very promising initial results. Let's hope that the results hold.
