It had the original hang tag. On that tag the model was stamped "T" then it was overstamped "EG" and stamped a second time "EG". SO strong evidence that Savage refered to them as EG's.

Data on a couple more in .300 S. 431702 and 431720. Not a typo. Both with 22" barrels.
