Anyone here tried the .19 Calhoon, the .19-.223 or the .19 Badger? I met a guy last week that converted a XP-100 into a rifle in the .19 Badger. He said that is was tremendously accurate to 300 yards.

I have an XP-100 that should be turned into a nice rifle I think. What do you folks know about these Calhoon rounds?

I've got both the 19 Calhoon and 19-223 but I just haven't fooled with them enough to give you any first hand comments. If you've not checked it out yet www.jamescalhoon.com will give most of the info you want. Another great site for small calibers is www.Saubier.com. Sift throught the archives. A lot of good info there.

No expensive form dies are required for the 223 or hornet versions. Just run your cases through a FL die and shoot. The Badger is a little more difficult due to brass issues but James sells formed brass at very good prices so that really shouldn't be an issue. James is the only game in town for bullets and that seems to be a concern for a lot of shooters. Me, I'll just rat hole enough bullets to wear out the barrel once I settle on a load. Should the worst happen, there are a few fellows drawing down the plastic tipped 20 cal bullets and are getting great accuracy and a pretty good bump in BC.

If you're serious, I would encourage you to call the folks at James Calhoon. You'll not find nicer people anywhere.
