PM eddief he'll be able to tell you for sure, But I think you will have to polish and re blast with AO to smooth the finish out, because of how thin cerakote goes on!

I'll do that....that sounds right. I'd rather remmy just left them in the white and spray painted than those sps'ish finishes.

I have had several rifles' metal refinished with KG Gunkote. it involves basic tear down, fine grit blasting, coating with color of your choice, baking, and reassembly. I do not do it, my custom rifle builder does, so I do not have all the particulars on how. I just know it is pretty much impervious to anything. On the bottom metal, depending on the type,, he wil powder coat.

I have had five done and great job. My color: Matte Black.

Smith also builds custom 1,000 yard bench rest from the ground up except for the barrel blank. You may want to look into the "KG"
If interested, he is Chad McCauslin of McCauslin Rifles.

Thank you for taking the time to give all that info. I emailed Eddie and if anyone else has wondered he says that it turns out smoother. I knew the cerakote was/is smooth but didn't know how smooth the actual gun would get....due to the rough finish they have. He said that doing the blasting/metal prep that it does smooth it out some.
