How many of you guys run this scope on a 22 lr, any major issues with parallax at normal 22 ranges? IIRC some guys are using them, did a search here but couldn't come up with much. I have an extra 2-7x35 with Ballistic Plex, trying to decide if I should put it on my CZ 452 or just get a rimfire scope. You would think the Ballistic Plex should be quite useful on a 22.

I use 3-9x FFII's with Ballistic Plex reticles on several of my smaller rifles, including a .22 LR, .17 HMR, .22 Hornet, etc. The reticle is indeed very useful with those rounds, and parallax isn't a real problem unless you're obsessed with super-tiny groups on paper at 50 yards.

Even then, if you just move your head back a little until the field of view is slightly smaller than the rear lens, and keep that circle of light centered in the lens, there won't be any parallax.

I use the sweet, but sadly long discontinued 1.75-5x24 FFII on one of my RF's.

Works great.

Thanks guys that's some very helpful information, I really like these Burris FF II scopes and the Ballistic Plex really works. I'm adding a 223 and getting a different 260 so it is causing a complex chain reaction with my scopes I'm going to put the Leupold 8x40 AO on the 223 when it comes then.

Another vote for using the FF II on rim fires, have the 3-9 on my .22's & a .22 Mag

I like the FFII with the AO, not really critical for a hunting rifle, but if you do bench work at ranges less than 100 yards the AO will make a differance.

If you think it's good for those, check out how well it fits the .17HMR. The dots are within 1" of POI all the way to 300 yards.........................

I am in the process of installing a Fullfield II 2-7x35 on my Ruger 77/22. I have sent it back to Burris to get the parallax adjusted closer, but I expect it will work out great.

I used a 3x9 Burris Ballistic Plex on my CZ 452 for several years. At first I sighted it in dead on at 50. The next down little cross hair was about 75 the third about 100, four 125, top of post about 150.

Eventually I changed to sighting it in at 100, using the third click down for shooting gophers in very open fields as this proved to be much more precise. The difference at 50, too high, was easier to allow for than slightly low at 100. I did kill lots and lots of gophers at 100, less at 125 and a few memorable ones at 150.

Windage presents the greatest problem with these scopes and 22LR. Getting a consistant hold point for 100 yd shots in a 10 to 15 mph wind was very difficult. Ammo quality and wind are the determinants in 22LR.

I never found paralax to be an issue though focus at ranges under 50 was impossible at 9x. If a gopher poped up at "shoot ME!" distances, I just turned the scope down to 3x and bang.

I now use a Bushnell 3200 10x on my 22LR as well as CZ 223 and my 270 heavy varmint rifle. Clicking up is very precise and the ability to correct for wind is extremely important since I find that calm days are not the norm in Montana. Using a click up scope is great fun if you have a good range finder. I use a Leupold rangefinder bino. I know my click ups and have found that the additional option of windage has helped me greatly for wind estimation with serious long range shooting with the 223 and 270.
