He is the Savage Historian. Letters your Savage for you.

Provides date the rifle left the factory, who it was shipped to, configuration of the rifle and so on. A letter can verify that the rifle is original or has been changed. Also can increase value if some sort of special Savage. Sometimes a rifle shows up with questionable features, was it done at the factory, was it sent back for features added, etc. A letter sometimes clears those questions up, sometimes not. Tom

LBK, I assume this is a recent move? White pages still shows old address. Has he changed his address on his letter head?

I will change the address in the sticky...just want to make sure it is correct. New address is only about 10 miles north.

I would say maybe you should give him a land line call. He completed his move last month or December. I wouldn't change anything till you speak with him.

The Fox Collectors web site has it right.
