Tempting would be Keiler. As you know everthing has a price, what is the price for 20cm Waffen? Does Romania have any Siberian Rehbock? And of course I've heard a lot of good info on the Brown Bears there. So many places to go, so little time! Waidmannsheil, Dom.

Dom ,

I will soon give an answer to you on private ....maybe tomorrow if I have time...
For wild boar a trophy of 20cm is a normal good male I will send you pictures with the last shoot in this season....that was very big!!!
Siberian Rehbock -it's the roe deer...and we have very good trophy , usually 400g but can exceed this weight often ....I will load on the google some pictures and I will give you the link .
...regarding bears...we have the biggest density !!! I repeat density , in our last autumn drive we had 14 bears in just 1 drive !!!!...here is the bears paradise and the world trophy I think is from Romania ...

I couldn't get the link for the Roe Deer to open but the Brown Bear link worked fine, nice bears. I looked on the map and you have the European Roe. The Siberian does not make it that far West, most of the hunting I've heard for them is in the Ural Mountains. Still 400gr bucks are very good trophies!

In this season in just one drive we had 14 bears ....a lot more than wild boars :))
It was strange and funny ...and some of as was scared also :))
In Vrancea where we usually hunt on our hunting territories is "the land of brown bears":)

in Romania are 2 season

spring 15 march - 15 may

autumn 15 September - 15 december in driven hunts.

In driven hunts is very interesting but difficult and dangerous .
In spring is 100% successful hunt smile

Thanks for the Brown Bear dates.

I have been on several hound hunts for black bear and I am very curious how the driven hunts work for a brown bear, if you could explain a bit about it I am sure a lot of people on this forum would really appreciate it - myself especially.

...the hunt is made like a normal driven hunt with beaters and dogs . Usually the bears are coming before wild boars and if they have dogs on their trails are not so attentive.
They are afraid of big noise . If you have luck you may have the opportunity to shoot in 50 m that is very closed.
The dangerous part comes after you shoot ( of-course you are staying in a high seat) but bears are very good climbers :)) .
In this kind of hunts you must have "cold blood" and have to be a good shooter !
Somebody can stay with you if you prefer like so .
After my opinion is nice hunt , an adventure !
