Sorry I didn't post sooner. I got back in late August but I was crippled and busy.

8 days in RSA just isn't enough. I had the time of my life! It would have been much better if I hadn't tripped the first day and injured my knee. It was bruised and swollen, but I still managed to climb mountains and put on some stalks. I was just very slow at it. I am still limping around....it's pitiful really.

I took a 270 yrd shot at a blesbok, 240 at a warthog, 180 at a baboon, and 120 at a bushbuck. OK, given those distances, you can see that I was too crippled to put on a good stalk. But, by the end of the hunt, I was having so much fun shooting at those distances that I was teasing my PH that the animals were too close to shoot.

I used a Sisk rifle .308 which fit me perfectly. Accubond went with me again, just because it worked so well the first trip.

I aimed about a whole head high of the warthog's head at 240 yrds. When we got down the mountain to the warthog, everyone was looking him over to see where he was hit. Don't ya know I hit him between the eyes.

The coolest part of this story is that the warthog had a history of wrestling leopards. How I know this is the leopard's tooth that we pulled out of his scull.

I tagged along for an elephant hunt, camped out under the stars, rode the canoe out on the glassy lake at night and watched the moon set. Can life get better than that?

Hopefully it won't be too long before all these creatures are hanging around in my house. I have some of my best scenery pictures hanging all around my office walls at work. No wonder I am working such long hours with those pics around to stare at.

I got to go back and try this again. I'm gonna try to take the whole family next time. Maybe Botswana.

I'd like to share some pics, but I can't get this darn computer to shrink them enough to get them under 100,000 bytes.

C'mon! We want pics. Other than the knee injury, it sounds wonderful!

The easiest way to do the pic thing is to get a Photobucket.com acct and upload them from your computer to there. Once loaded you just have to right click the bottom line under the picture Copy and then paste into the body of your post. It's extreemly easy, heck i can do it. Give it a go, we'd all like to see some photos from your hunt.

Congrats on the hunt!!!

Thank you for the report! To get your pictures to work better, try photobucket. I know what you mean about wanting to go back, Africa gets under your skin in a hurry:)

Nope. I practiced and rode a lot before going to Africa. My knee was injured too bad to sit a horse.

This bushbuck was the most exciting and the last of the hunting I did. We were so far away and on top of a mountain that my PH wanted me to shoot it again before we climbed down. There was really no need because the animal fell in its tracks.

The Sisk rifle made the hunting unfair for the animals. Never had a gun shoot so true and so easy to shoot.

The warthog was the most fun shot I made. When he was hit in the head, he fell head over heels for me.

Excellent !!! Thanks for posting. Much appreciated.

It is always a great delight to have the ladies participate. Can't tell you how much it means to us guy's.

I'm really, really upset that you lucked out on your horse back riding. Bummer !! We spent a lot of time culling through and trying to get the thing organized properly. I know that you were focused on that.

When you are ready to go back, if you are interested, I will be happy to steer you into some great deals - 10 species - 10 days. You'll have trophies coming out your ears.

Regards;

The only trophies I really want when I go back are waterbuck, gemsbok, and kudu. I hope my hubby gets to hunt to his content for the other species or whatever floats his boat.
