What is the value of this rifle in about 95% in the .244 caliber? I saw one at a gun show today and they were asking $1200.00 for it. Thanks.

I think you could get the Holy Grail of 760's (a .223) for $1200.

$1,200 seems like a lot of $$ for that rifle, unless you are a 760 collector with that particular hole in your collection or it is an upgrade to your current rifle.
I saw a minty 5-Diamond Remington 760 in 244 Rem at the LaVista, NE, Cabela's a couple of years ago for under $500 and posted it somewhere on 24-HCF as a heads up for 760 guys. About 2 years ago, I came across another 5-Diamond 760 at the same Cabela's, this 1 in 30-06, and bought it just because it was in such nice, high 90% range, shape.

I was at a gun auction on Sunday. There was a 760 5-diamond there in 300 savage. The checkering on the forearm was worn just about smooth but still visible and the buttstock had some pretty good scratches and 1 small gauge. The bluing was gettin kinda thin in a couple spots and had a couple scratches in it too. It had an older bushnell banner on it with the see-thru rings. It sold for $625. I went to $400 and bailed out as there were still 2 other guys bidding on it.I figgered $400 was enough as rough as it was. If that gun could talk I bet it coulda told some stories though'.
If it looks good, you'll see it If it sounds good, you'll hear it If it's marketed right, you'll buy it But...If it's real, you'll feel it Kid Rock

I got them down to $900.00 with a period scope. The .244's were only made for I think 3 years. This rifle is in better condition than I had originally thought. It is in very collectable condition and very hard to find. I saw the one at Cabelas and it was in very rough condition. I saw one about 10 years ago NIB in the standard grade sell for $350.00. I should have bought it. I think that I will purchase it anyway.
