bsa: Both of my gopher/PD shooting pards have one of these rifles in .223...dependability is usual Ruger...never an issue...accuracy is excellent..unable to discern it from Remington Varmints.
One of my pards had his re-barreled....took about 12K rounds shooting hot and dirty to wreck the factory Bbl...( we got it so hot one day that it cooked off a round...)
The trigger is good and if I had any complaints about the rifle it would be the weight....most shooting is done off bags so it is a non-issue, relatively speaking...

Here is one...getting deployed on the killing fields.... grin

Thanks ingwe. The trigger is pretty good after correct adjustment. I think I'll still have to replace one of the springs though as it is very deformed (someone else had adjusted it before me and the adjustment screw smashed it to one side). The 2 stage wasn't working when I got it but now it is and it's not bad. I tore it all apart and that thing has way more parts than a regualar MKII eek. In all, I'm pretty happy with it. Now for working up a good accurate load for it. grin

Did not know they offered the Varmint in .22 Hornet... or did you mean the 77/22?
