If your going 30 cal go 30-30 on a 14 inch barrel. Mine is easy to shoot and load development was easier. However, if was doing it again would look at the 7 Waters.

My T/C journey has gone the same route. Really like the 10" barrels now for holster carrying. It's just a preference on my part to stick with the classic "short barrel" rounds in short barrels i.e. 30/357 Herrett, 357 max, 41 mag, etc. If I want to use a 7-30, 30-30, 35 Remington, etc. I much prefer them in a 14" barrel where they can really strut their stuff.

Good posts guys. Thanks for all of your input. I think for starting off with the contender I am gonna go with the 10" in 41 Mag.
