Yours...........0.

If he was as much a fountain of knowledge as he thinks he is I'd see the utility. Truth is, it's not like he is.

I bought TWO skinny-barrel 7-08's well over a decade ago. Why? Because a mentor, who is NOT a giant ego-filled balloon, steered me right. He's a member here and has probably owned as many guns as Big Balloon, built as many rifles... but you won't see hum thumping his chest and proclaiming himself Lord God of All Things Guns.

And you know what else? There's thousands more just like my buddy out there. Probably tens of thousands.

Anyway, I kind of like Stick and in my gentle way, am trying to help the guy out.

Wageslave,

If you read this 20 times, you still won't learn a [bleep] thing. I just tried.

Unless, of course, you present your evidence to the contrary. Numbers, bullet types, ranges. Etc. I won't hold my breath.

Now off to go hork up another lunger.

Here is another example of why I live with twist envy in my 22-250

The plate on the left was shot by BillyGoatGruff and his 1-8" 22-250 AI launching the 75gr A-Max @ 3,300ish. Note the snow moving to the left... I shot the same distance (455 yards) with some 55gr Nosler's clocking 3,600ish and my POI was 5" off target.

Not the first time his fast twist rifle kicked my azz....

Plate on the right was from his 7 RUM.

I just show up wearing aviators and they load up my truck for me. Not a word is spoken.

That is the power of the aviators.

I guess you really don't shoot nearly as much as your Imagination allowed you to Pretend?!!? Might have something to do with the correlation of no lightweight Ping Pong Ball BC'd Factory Fodder being marked: "DO NOT fire in a fast twist,or the [bleep] thing will blow up!".

Laffin'!

You're right. love to shoot more, but I'm in the office today. Lots of times in the office on weekends, and 10-12 hour days at work. Guess it works for me since we've grown the business a lot in the last year smile

My .22-250 shoots well with anything I'm gonna shoot in it, including a 53 TSX. If I had a an AI built, (probably a Cooper)I agree with you I'd look for a 1:8 or such.

So rather than just labeling them as stupid bean counters, has anyone asked them why they don't use faster twists?

Any one tried the twist rate change through quickload? I have in the past and I am pretty sure it predicted negligible if any pressure differences. I am in ND today and do not have Ql on this computer. I have shot hot loaded 55gr loads set up for my 14T 223 through my 7T 223 with out a problem.

It's because watching Stick is like watching a ginormous ego-filled balloon pop in slow motion. When he gets slightly bewildered and starts repeating the same tired chit while thinking he's actually insulting people it's even better.

When the fish and dead trees come out you know it's yet another Big Stick Self-Goatphuck.

It ain't never not funny.

Totally correct, and just TFF gots me rollin and laffin.

Are those the ones where the commercial says check with your doctor and make sure you're healthy enough for aviator activity?
