I was wondering if any of you mated a Defiance Machine action with the "Sheep tang" to a McMillan stock. Here's is a pic of the tang shape I'm talking about. Any suggestions on how one would fill in the tang area of a standard Remington inlet cosmetically ?

RD - Dam with clay and filler-up...grin. Check out Chad Dixon's site: http://www.longriflesinc.com/pillars.htmlGood information/pic's. "News and Updates" section's impressive! Nice action, BTW...

RDFinn,
Just let McMillan know you are using that particular action & they will take care of it for you if you haven't already ordered/have the stock!!

I've got a Defiance Sheep Hunter action in a McMillan edge. Robert Gradous built .243AI, Rock #1, Jewell trigger, Swaro 3-10x42 TDS. Gradous told me about this build Joe, said it was a "tack-driver". Sooo how does it shoot for ya when you got it? ..Very nice, I like my sheep action as well.

Thanks, Frank and Stoney. Unfortunately I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to get out and shoot it yet. Robert sent me the targets with the rifle and it was shooting sub .5 groups with regular .243 ammo (not AI). He was pretty impressed considering it was a number 1 contour and sub 6 lb. rifle. When I get to the range I'll post some better pics and some targets.
