I have a 1933 Savage 99, .303-Savage is marked on the barrel. Are there cartridges available for me to use this superb rifle.

Robert you would get better answers by asking in the Savage Collects forum here Savage Collectors Forum.

Check out this month's Handloader. There is a great article about Savage 99's and detailed instructions on making 303 Savage cases and loading for that round. ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v145/ZekeMenuar1/Savage1.jpg) ZM

Zeke, if you cut the stock right behind the pistol grip, and shorten the barrel to about 16 inches, I think it will fit in the drawer. Just thought I would pass on a little helpful hint. Your welcome.

Your welcome. You think that technique would work on my Mosin-Nagants and Mausers. Those milsurps take up a lot of room. ZM

Naw, just yank the barrels off the Mausers, chuck the stocks, sell the barrels on Ebay, and send the actions to me. That should clear up plenty of room and rid you of those old relics.
