Just got back from helping my neighbor find a deer that his daughter shot. I took my Great Pyrenees (Purl) and she did a great job of trailing it. This is only her second hard trail (the other was last season) and she only lost it once. We jumped a couple of deer and she wanted to follow them. I put her back on the blood trail and soon after she found the deer. When we found it we were 780 yards from the truck by gps. I don't have any idea how far by the crooked path that we took. The deer was hit too far forward (in front of the shoulder) and would have been lost if not for the dog. I am proud of her. miles
Look out for number 1, don't step in number 2.
