It sucks. Had to go to a left hand rifle after having a stroke in my shooting eye so got a Browning 7MM mag left hand. Due to age and other problems I don't feel confident on taking on the job of loosening up the trigger myself. Does anybody do this? Should have got a left hand Tikka.

I have heard good things about Bill Springfield's work on the BAR. If you have the newer version of the BAR with the detachable trigger pack it would be a snap to send it off to him for work. Not expensive either. I was considering it on mine but the trigger on my '06 is only a tad heavy with none of the horrible creep everyone is always complaining about.

I took my Belgium 243 BAR in got a trigger job to a local smith and was told after the fact that he could only go to 3 1/2# with out going full auto. I had no problem with full auto but 3 1/2# on his scale felt like 6# on my finger. I sold it and got a bolt gun. Make sure you know what your getting and don't pay ahead.

The trigger group on the Type one Belgium guns is removable. You have to remove the stock,m then it slides out to the rear. Most can be helped. jack

The smith did cut it down by 45% but it still didn't feel right. This is Only My Smith. Most of my rifles are 1 to 1 1/2# so I probably should not be commenting on the OP's post. If you have never felt a true crisp 1 pounder a 3 1/2 would be the cats meow, compared to the god awful trigger the BAR comes with.

Good to hear 651. I may just have to send mine in after all. Sounds like turn around was pretty darn fast too.
