Patrick that bullet will do you just fine. I can't tell you how many ark fulls of deer/lopes are filled every year in Montana via plain jane factory ammo with either soft points.

R-P 55 sp's
Federal Classic 55 sp's
Win-55 sp's
Win's 64 Power Pt is another good one.

Many good choices, point them in the proper manner and it's be 4 hooves up quickly.

Can you find the 64 Win PP's in your area? If so, buy them and go forth and get after it.

Good to hear..! Maybe just maybe hell stick around a lil while longer. Do you still have some big Alaska guns? That's a big buck and I'd hate to see you lose him....laffin.

That's prolly good that it was planted late I guess?.....idk if our corn will make or not? It was growing real good and makin ears when we hit that bad dry spell.

A lease u can walk to wouldn't suck....grin.

You might be able to find a box or two if you look around.

Midway does show the 60-grain Partition being offered in Federal's Vita-Shok line, so that's another possibility. Lastly, Double Tap loads a 55-grain TTSX that would probably work just as well as the Partition. They are listed in the Midway catalog, as well,

I would try a box of each and see what shoot best in your rifle.

There's some good information, get a box of each brand's partitions. Forget the 55g TTSX, they won't stabalize in a 14 twist. 64g Win will stabalize in a 14 twist, Win should load them, they are a very tough bulllet.

First choice: My own load with 60gr Partitions and 38grs of IMR 4350. (It has actually killed whitetails in the hands of a du-mass like me).

Second choice: Someone's factory load, same bullet.

Third Choice: WW 64gr Power Points. Know some that've been dumping deer with that'un for many years.

Win has the 64 pp in factory loads. Very tough little slug.

I use Federal Premium 55 Grain BTHP. They are sierra bullets. I have had great luck with them. I have shot several whitetails with them and they have all droped in thier tracks.

I shoot the exact same powder charge but use either the 60 gr. Soft point or hollow point from Hornady. I generally use the 22-250 after I fill my buck tag when we need to reduce the doe herd. I like my 22-250 better for this than my 6MM Remington.
