I remain hip upon: "O Brother,Where Art Thou?".
Also missing upon the thus far assembled list,is: "The Wind and the Lion".
Also: "The Man Who Would Be King".
"Porky's" also rates mention............................

I've got "The Big Lebowski" on DVD, and watch it often enough ... John Goodman's character is without peer ... amazing stuff. "Snatch" is also damned funny ... I always get a belly-ache laughing at the part where Brad Pitt is talking about how he want's a Perrywinkle blue camper ... where they come up with this stuff, I don't have a clue. And speaking of Brad Pitt, ... "Fight Club" is pretty good to watch, especially if you've had a bad day ...

Please don't tell me I'm the only die-hard Blues Brothers fan. That's my numbero uno, but I've never been accused of being wired like most folks.
Here's mine:
Blues Brothers The Ghost and the Darkness (hoaky, yes, but come on, a military engineer saves the day by killing big game...it speaks to me) Platoon Red Dawn Sneakers (it really makes you think) Gladiator Christmas Vacation ("Zhitters full!") Saving Private Ryan The Outlaw Josey Whales Lord of the Rings (any)
Austin Powers, I Robot, and 13th Warrior are good contenders also.

Wow alot of great movies listed. I think everyone has at least one on their list I would put on my own list. Some I'm surprised aren't mentioned.
We Were Soldiers BlackHawk Down The Professionals Nothin' to Lose (lots of laughs) I, the Jury (good who done it) How The West Was Won
probably more I can't think of right now.

I enjoyed many of those mentioned above but not very many made in recent years that rate "my favorites" status.
I like most any action movie with John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Robert Duvall, Jack Nicholson, Robert DeNiro, Tom Selleck and Sam Elliott.
Here are the first ten "my favorite's" that come to mind, in no particular order:
1. The Yearling 2. The Good Earth 3. The Grapes of Wrath 4. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn 5. Patton 6. Lonesome Dove 7. Memphis Belle 8. Jeremiah Johnson 9. Magnificent Seven 10. Tombstone
"A Christmas to Remember" is my personal favorite Christmas movie. (late '70's made for Tv flick - Jason Robards & Eva Marie Saint)

BCR;
You weren't in the movies Glory and Gettysburg, you were in the original battles. Make sure you clarify that... you wouldn't want folks getting the wrong ideas.
