Rifle is in excellent condition.
Wood has a few very small handling marks that wont show up in pictures.
Blue/metal/bore are in excellent condition.
Has been drilled and tapped for scope mounts.
Original butt plate was replaced with a Decelerator pad.
Very clean little carbine.
$1050 Shipped.

Do you have the mount? If not, what mount is it drilled for?

Do not have a mount for this rifle, however the mount it is drilled for is a Leupold one piece or the two piece Redfield can be used.

I never saw a Leupold base made for a Mannlicher with a split rear bridge. From the photos it appears to have been drilled and tapped for the two piece Redfield which has been out of production for several years. It looks like the rifle has been drilled and tapped for a side mount base too, which sadly was commonly done back in those days.

Rifle is Drilled and tapped for a one piece Leupold base that was available in the 60's. The holes on the side of the action are for the Leupold base. The rear Redfield base uses the factory holes at the back of the action on the left side that have filler screws in them.

I believe the side mounts were made by Griffin & Howe. When M/S Rifles were imported by Stoeger , if a scope mount was to be installed the rifle went down the street to G&H to have the dummy plate removed and the G&H side mount screwed and pinned. Pachymar made some side mounts too, I never cared for them.
The bridge mounts were made by Redfield and Kuharsky cam mounts.
Never heard of a leupy mount and none of my M/S have them.
I bought many new 52's 56's and 1961 MCA's.
Just my limited experience.
I like your rifle a lot,
please sell it to someone.

Here are pics of the MS Leupold mount. I have them on a couple of my MS Carbines and really like them, probably better than the Redfields!

Thanks for the pics hclark. Hope they make beleivers of some. My other MS rifles wear EAW or Recknagel mounts and didn't have a Leupold to photo.

I stand corrected. I've seen a lot of MS's and mounts but this is the first time I've ever seen Leupold bases and rings for a MS. Even as old as I am, you learn something every day.

Yours is a good looking one too.

I believe that the Leupold mounts were the called the "Adjusto-Mount". There is also a Bausch and Lomb mount. Both bases go on in the same way but the spacing is different. I know this because I thought they were the same and now have a B&L base and mount that does not fit my 1905 M/S. I have a dealer acquaintance who had one of the Leupold mounts on a rifle he was selling and I was able to confirm that the Leupold is what mine was set up for. I've since just used the rifle with the open sights.
The ring arrangement is completely different on the mounts.
The largest supply of Leupold Adjusto-mounts that I was ever aware of was at Howard's Gun Shop in Anchorage--out of business years ago.

Learn something every day.
Never saw Leupy mounts for a M/S before. I would have more interest if D&Ted for Redfield or Kuharsky bases Cisco

Funny, I took the Leupold mount off this very rifle and sold it with the 3x scope that came on it. Bet ya what I am asking for the rifle that a Leupold mount fits the holes pictured.
