How much diff from a Wyatt 'Clone' at 3.0 and a 3.05 ?
Just thinking, best in an LA no doubt, but better than a 7/08 w/162s? I'd expect it. Yes/no?

How much diff from a Wyatt 'Clone' at 3.0 and a 3.05 ? I'm not a math major but I estimate the diff to be approx 0.05"?? No question, that would be about as good. But I haven't seated a VLD in a 284 case to know how deep you can go and still have the ogive north of the case mouth.

You can keep a 162 ojive out of a 284 casemouth under 3.0 inches. But if you want to reach lands with said ojive, or especially have room to chase them, you better have the throat cut with that specifically in mind. Not lots to spare.

Here's a 7/08 AI (bout same length as vanilla) with a 162 Amax. Length is 2.800" as shown, ojive is a little less than .050" outta the case mouth, wouldn't want it especially deeper. My .284 based cases run about .150" longer than the 7/08 AI shown. So I figure 3.00 leaves you about .050" of play with a 284 & 162 Amax, if you don't seat it any deeper than I did.
