I have used the 20 grain xtp on game. I would still try for head shots but would not hesitate to take body shots. I have shot squirrels and grouse with mine. Entrance is small exit is about the size of the tip of my thumb. The bullet does not fragment just punches a nice clean hole. So punch the treerats through the ribs and you will not lose anything worth saving.
