Headed to idaho next week!!!! One week pack in wilderness hunt with horses. After packing out half of my buddies 5x6 plus camp 5 miles out of the minam on my back, i think im gonna get to like horses.....

Leaving tomorrow morning. Only 30 hour drive to Meeker. Doing a drop camp in unit 24. Two years ago I broke my leg in camp the day before the season started. Hunted from camp but no luck, third day watched a herd of about 80 with some nice bulls but couldn't get to them. Hopefully this year will be better. Good luck to all.

JOC was right. The 270 Winchester on a Model 70 is a great combination as is the 30/06 and 375 H&H

Head out next Monday to 54, second season. Getting all kinds of stuff ready on the cattle places to where we can be gone, repaired 2 water tanks today and have truck getting serviced. Good luck and safe keeping for everyone!
