He quit shooting when he figured he was sighted in.

He is in the woods hunting with that rig right now.

Believe it or not, I subsequently was buying ammo and picked up a box that seemed light. Yep, half empty, same headstamp! Obviously I can't be certain, but I suspect that the guy returned it. Wouldn't surprise me from this place either. "Sure, it'll definitely work in your rifle!"

Since no one else has mentioned it, I found you can tame the brutal recoil of a .270 by shooting .25-06's in it.

At least I realized something was wrong after the first shot. expensive way to make .270 brass.

But I sure do get nervous when I take a .300 Savage and a 7mm-08 to the range...

Well I've been caught twice doing dumb things.
8mm Mauser out of my M1 Garand, and a 270 through my 338mag.
1st time was when someone gave me a half box of ammo in a 30-06 box only to find out they were 8mm.
Second time where I had both rifles and both were shooting nickle brass with black bullets. Had left the wrong one lying on the bench.
No harm either one, but you do end up feeling like a dumb ass.
