Rubber Butt Pad? Don't ever alter a rifle by installing a recoil pad. You don't need 'em while hunting and you seriously hurt the value of a rifle that eventually becomes a collectible. Shooting on the bench can be punishing but you can use shooting jackets with padded shoulders or insert a small bag of shot between shoulder and the stock
