Looking for some 243 match/long range loads. I have a 28 inch 1 in 8 twist barrel and I have 115 Dtacs, 107 sierras, 105 amaxs and rl-17 on hand. Looking for some accurate loads. Thanks

Start at 48ish grains of Retumbo, CCI-250s, and work up to as much powder as you can drop into that case.

And watch the magic happen.

Tune, you ever try any 95 gr. BTs?

No sire, I really only used the 85gr TSX and 105 A-Max, along with a bunch of 87 V-Maxes. I don't own a 243 anymore (sinful, I know).

Shame on you Tanner, 243's are so much fun. I'm currently using 105 vld hunting with H1000. H4350 works well too.

I've had some good luck with 87 grainers, 95 ballistic tips, and 105 A Maxes, plus for long rang target shooting...107 grain Sierra HP...powder of choice for the heaviest bullets, H 1000.. the others, RL 19 is a good choice

on a long action Rem 700,a 6mm Rem, I have a one in 7 twist Pac Nor barrel at 24 inches... that one runs 115 Bergers, with H 1000, and pushes them at 3250 fps MV...

Well mine is an 243AI with a 24" 1-9"tw Rock 5r barrel. I run both the 105Amax and 105VLD. I moly coat my own bullets and my rifle likes the Amax at 3250fps and the VLD at 3200; both in Lapua brass with R17 and fed210's.

They both shoot very well and I have used both of those bullets on deer/crows/woodchucks/etc. Currently I'm just running the VLD.

This was the VLD at 200yds.

VLD at 705yds.

Same rifle in a different A5 with Amax at 850yds.

I run 250's, 105 amaxes or vld's, and H1000 from a Norma case. Used to run 3100 from my 26" 8 twist brux but has been clocking 3180 ish lately. Same can of powder so I think the barrel just sped up as it broke in. My accuracy has also gin down from 1/4 moa to about 3/4. I plan to drop the charge a bit and see if it gets me back in the node.
