I just took delivery of a new to me hunting rifle. Remington 700 in 6mm Remington, 22" 1-9 twist RKS barrel, McMillan edge stock. Waiting on some talley lightweights to arrive to mount my 2.5-10x44 Vortex Viper HS and then see how it shoots. I think it's gonna be a out perfect for whitetails/coyotes.

The 6mm is definitely one of my favorite centerfire rifle cartridges.

That is what I call a coyote slaying machine. Very nice!

Nice! The 6mm is a great caliber. I have a Remington Mohawk that I bought / traded for years ago and it is one of my go to whitetail rifles. I have an old Weaver Widefield 2 x 7 scope and it will shoot 3/4" 5 shot groups at 100 yards with almost any ammo. I probably haven't shot it in 2 years but I know if I took it out of the safe right now, it would still do the same thing.

A great white tail cartridge/rifle, but one needs another rifle for coyotes.

No worries, I have a .223 for them as well, I'll probably use it most of the time for Yotes. But if I'm setup where shots might get long, I'll use the 6mm.

And it would be totally inadequate should one go after mule deer. Now one has a reason to make another purchase.

You're kidding, right?

I mean, we all need another rifle, but a 6mm will kill a mulie dead.

Absolutely not! One needs at least a 7 mm. Just ask my wife.

That's funny, I always thought that you needed a 6mm for coyotes, a .270 for whitetails, a 30-06 for mule deer, a .300 Mag(pick one) for elk.....aren't these rounds game specific? Don't tell me I've been acquiring rifles needlessly for game I plan to hunt in the future....

While we may disagree slightly, I think you are on the right track there.
