I've been looking for a bullet to use on Hogs that anchors them DRT. The 50 gr. Barnes does that spectacularly. I shot a 150 lb hog quatering away at 250 yards and the bullet entered on the last rib, went up through the chest cavity, destroying everything, on through the neck and exited his mouth, knocked down another hog that was with him.I believe it would be poison on most medium sized animals. He never even kicked and was some kinda bleeding. That was a good 18 inches of devastation. I can't wait for a 300 lb boar to show me a rib cage. GOOD JOB BARNES !!! It give awesome accuracy at 300 yards. Pushing 4050 fps. Have you guys tried it?

The swift is definitely one of my favorite cartridges. I know that in many ways, the .22-250 makes more sense, but the swift is so much cooler!

No , pictures yet,we just started a 2 week primative weapon season so I may have to shoot the Swift after it is over. The Barnes could be poison on deer also. We have a lot of season left to hunt so , We will see the true potential soon.

I have a load for the 45gr tsx for my 221 fireball -guessing here -i figure around 3300 fps.
The scope got knocked off right before a night hunt -i missed a 70-80 pounder at 75yds -so no glory for the 45gr tsx thus far.
I have some more 45 tsx and some 50gr ttsx on order -going to see how a 26" barreled 22-250 like them.
There is a write up on the 220 swift over on txboars -they [kevin] says it's not the optimal gun which we already know but they have killed some HUGE 300-400 lb. hogs with the swift.
I read a thread somewhere about txs and ttsx at extreme velocities -and most people agreed the faster the better.
I wish barnes would make a ttsx about 65gr -a 243 would zing that weight bullet..
Deer will be pulverized when shot through the chest w/a 50gr barnes from a swift-no doubt.
I remember a guy in the N.W. shooting coyotes w/a 257 weatherby using the 80gr tsx -he would wait for shots quartering to or away and send the bullet through as much coyote as he could --it wasn't pretty let me tell you.
Good luck with the rest of your season -we're just getting started here in Fl to -73* today big skeeters.
