Weaver 1.5-4.5x
This scope came on a Win. Model 88 I bought a while back. I really don't know anything about the scope other than it looks about as old as the rifle but that's just a wild guess on my part. Anyone know these well enough to say what it's worth? I'm debating on changing it out for something newer.

appreciate the help,

About $40, At least that's the most I'd pay for one shipped.

Well, it's always only worth what someone will pay, but there are two on ebay right now with a buy it now price of over $200. Not that they'll get that and not that ebay is the price point bible, but those are a LOT more rare than the k4's that sell for $50-$75 or so on most sites. If someone offers you $40 for it laugh at them. Unless of course it's me, then just sell it to me for the $40 grin wink

Edit: I assume you are talking about the old v series. If it's the classic extreme, then $40 would be at the high end of what you could expect.

My experience has been $75 to $100 depending on condition or needs.

Thanks. That's helpful. I haven't tried it out really but it doesn't seem like a bad scope considering what it was intended for. If I upgrade I'll post it here first. I dislike ebay enough to make someone a decent deal anywhere else.

Considering most all older weavers will need to be refurbished once purchased (most loose nitrogen and fog up like crazy and glass crazes) I could never bring myself to give more than 40-50 for one considering a refurb job is going to run you 75-100

Just bought a Weaver V4.5 on E-Bay three weeks ago....In excellent, like new condition. I paid $117.50 for it, plus $12.00 shipping. I put it on a Model 99, 308 Win. that I have and it works great. It's crystal clear and looks great too..

Some guys may think thats too much money, but I don't mind paying more for a vintage scope that I want if it's in excellent condition...JMO

Side note, anyone know who will work on the old Weavers V4.5's? I had mine on my 416 taylor and it blew the eye piece out..

Thx in advance
