I will have to look up the Load i use in my 25 STW. I use the Barnes 100 gr TSX with Rel 25 , i just can't remember the exact load but will look it up and post it for you. I also use 7mm STW Brass i neck down and not 8 mm Rem Mag Brass.
This from Loaddata.com

Top accuracy i would guess less than 1500 rounds depending on how you shoot it, as a Big Game rifle you will probably never wear out the barrel.

Do a Google search for (1) the .257 STW and read the article by Russell Thornberry - and some other interesting hits and then (2) do a Google search for the .257 Tamale and it will take you to the web-site of Jim Ferguson who builts quite a few rifles for those who like to go "fast". In addition to needing at least a 28" bbl the problem with these speedster's is shooter's fall in love showing off the velocity to their buddies they're lucky to get a season or two out of the original barrel.

Here is my 257 STW . I barreled and chambered it myself . Shilen SS Match #4 barrel 27 inch. Left Hand 700 Action. Rel 25 and the Barnes 100 gr TSX . Elk was 510 yards Lasered . He just dropped in his tracks.

~Molɔ̀ːn Labé Skýla~ As Bob Hagel would say"You should not use a rifle that will kill an animal when everything goes right; you should use one that will do the job when everything goes wrong."Good words of wisdom...............
