and the weather is rainy and cool. Time for a big pot of Navy Beans, Ham and Sausage! Threw in an onion, some garlic, couple stalks of Celery, salt and pepper. Did not need anything else. The sausage was Portuguese Linguica.

Good looking pot of beans. We do a similar thing using andouille.

That does look real good. I likes Portagee Linguica. It's outstanding cooked on the grill and served as an appetizer. That does it. I haven't had any in a long time and I've been thinking about it lately. Next trip to the store I'm buying me some greezy spicy snausages.

Must be a soup day. I made a pot of black bean and ham soup.
No pics though.

I'm thinking I might make some soup this weekend.
I'd rather have a bad day hunting than a good day working!

Never tried it. What are the distinguishing characteristics? (in 50 words or less) greezy spicy snausages It's not a mild sausage but more in the realm of poslka keilbasa, andouille or a spicy beef stick. It's difficult to describe a unique flavor. All I can say is they're very tasty.

Good post. Bean with bacon (or whatever) is/was always one of my favs. Coupled with some fresh baked bread and you can be someone. No magarine sse. BTW is there any obvious/ particular reason that you would make this when your lovely wife is out of town?

Hey David, glad to see you back!!
Your ham and bean soup looks great Sam, but I ate so many as a kid I seldom have a craving for it any more. After seeing yours it sure would taste good on a chilly day like today.

That soup looks good no matter what the euro-sausage tastes like.

Love me some Linguica.!
Can't find it here, so I have to schlep it back from CA when I visit relatives.
Where my relatives in CA live, Linguica is an appetizer that's usually cooked on the grill over oak.
Once it's hot, you put a piece on a tortilla with a bit of cheese and some salsa..
That will tide you over until the Tri-Tip is done...
Linguica is FINE eating.!
