I am looking for an online reference that lists subtensions for various Leupold scopes, including current model VXR's. Try as I may, I can not Google up anything. All help greatly appreciated...

Thank you !

Go to Leupold's site and bring up down loads. Then bring up the current catalog. The subtentions are listed in the catalog.

Dave,
Thanks for the pointer. I finally found it.

Next question for the group. I really like the reticle in my VXR 4x12 scope. The thin section appears to be significantly thicker than in my VX3 2.5x8. However, when I look at the Leupold Subtension chart in their catalog, Leupold says both reticles should be the same or very close subtensions. The Leupold doc says the thin wire "width" (from thick post to thick post is twice as wide. Which it appears to be looking thru both scopes. But per the catalog, the thicknesses should be the same. Which they do not appear to be based on visual inspection.

I actually dialed both scopes to 4x and then observed a piece of 1/4" to 1/2" bar stock at approx 30 yards. The VXR reticle thin wire easily is as wide or wider than the bar stock. The VX3 thin wire does not quite cover the same piece of bar stock.

Is the additional width of the VXR thin section creating an optical delusion that it only "appears to be thicker" ?

The reason for all of my questions. I really like the reticle in the VXR. The thicker, wider thin section is much easier on the old eyes. If I can properly define the parameters, I am contemplating sending the 2.5 x 8 to Leupold to have the same reticle installed as the VXR 4x12. However, I am concerned that if I send it off, without fully understanding the differences, I might not get exactly what I am looking for.

Again, all help appreciated...

I believe the VXR reticle is etched. Can a scope with a wire reticle be changed to etched?
