else notice the single shot forum is gone? as in dissappeared? Is this one next?

No, I didn't notice . . . I would have eventually as I stopped in every week or so. If I ever posted there, it was long, long ago, only because I had little to say. Reading some of the comments/posts was often enlightening.
But, yup . . . it's gone.

Whew! Glad to hear that.
Although there may have been others of similar mind, I proposed to Rick that he carve out a BPCR section, to distinguish those traditional arms from the mainstream of single shots, with their emphasis on modern cartridges. Loading and managing a Sharps is a world away from "What hot round should my next Ruger No. 1 be chambered for?", or "Can a low wall be chambered for a .300 Mag.?" It's not about one interest being more worthy than another, just different.

Paul yep - from a longtime Ruger #1 owner & collector. They have personality & quirks too, but the BPCR's do require very different techniques, which I'm only beginning to learn.
