The HK SLB 2000 is no more HK, the production and rights belong today to Merkel/Haenel group, well known company with good ties and relationship with HK.
Introduced in 2000 on euro market, mostly in France, it was the first really reliable 9,3x62 semi auto rifle after some minor modifications.
Designed by people used to military firearm (assault rifle) it had a short lengh of pull which made it very fast and easy to shoulder for running game shooting. It's accuracy is good to excellent depending on bullets and ammo brand.
In France it is plagued by it's swivelling non detachable magazine but in your country you have a take down rifle, easy to clean and maintain. Ten rounds mags exist...
In 30-06 and 9,3x62 i has very good results in old and new versions in driven hunt even shooting at more than 100m on fast running boars.
The new version sold by Haenel possess a stock a bit longer, of different shape i don't like so much.
The thumb controlled safety on the tang is very efficient blocking trigger and sear (unique on a semi auto hunting rifle).
With good scope and ammo it's a moa or moa and half rifle.
I have friends who use it for 11 years and 3000 9,3x62 (all bullet weight from 225 to 285) from it, without any problem, breaking or failure. The "plastic" parts age very well (military quality). I used the SLB from -20C (Lithuania, Poland) to + 35C (France-Portugal)never had a jam, refuse to close or eject.
Not the nicest girl of the block, but one you can rely on!
