Jeez don't forget those junk NULA guns.

Both these bucks were killed with left handed, 2nd hand NULA muzzleloaders this past fall. The original owner of mine couldn't get it to shoot. I've killed 15 deer (pretty sure they were all one shot kills too) with it in 4 year. Junk................

i bought a 30-06 stainless lefthanded winchester 70 with a boss in a walnut stock years ago when a distributor was getting rid of them on close out for under 300 dollars. i should have bought the last three he had but didn't. i call it my factory ammo gun. i bought a few cases of federal ammo and tuned the boss for it. i use it to hunt with whenever i don't feel like reloading ammo for anything else. more than accurate enough for what i shoot at.

That's a tempting offer. I'll have to consult my magic 8-ball.

I owned two SS lefties and to say it blunt, both were [bleep]. Neither were accurate, one was not head spaced correctly and both were heavy. Holes for the scope bases were not drilled in the right spots either as one had to be shimmed to sight in and one was drilled slightly off center. Both were poorly finished as far as the wood and metal went. Rough as a cobb.

Sold the first one when Winchester was still making these and sold the second about 2-3 years after they stopped. I'll NEVER buy another. I have no problem buying a MRC action and going from there. And I like the latest lefties Win produced and built the WSM's on.

I would absolutely pick a SS Ruger to use as a donor rifle even if someone offered me a SS Win 70 lefty for the same price.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I sold a very nice LH SS Win 70 06 several years ago for around 1K very accurate and a nice rifle. My LH SS Ruger 77 MK 2 06 shoots just as well and it is the one I kept.

I sold my LH SS Classic in 338 mag here last spring. I got $1200 for it and another $300 for it's McMillan stock.
Not bad for a gun I bought for $580 new back in the only year they made a walnut, stainless in the LH version.
Mine shot very well, easily MOA with my reloads on a good day.
I also have a LH Remington 700 BDL, LH Browning SS in 7-08 and a custom MRC Lefty in 308. I would rate my LH Model 70 right up there with any of the others in fit, finish and accuracy.

In today's market, you'd get way more than $1,500 for the combo, probably $2,000+. It is very rare that any of the LH Left Hand Winchester Model 70 Stainless Classics come up for sale. Mine are incredible accurate and smooth and it took me over 10 years of searching to build my hunting 'battery'.

As an example for just the stock on the rifle- the other day, a Winchester Collector offered to buy the original Walnut stock on one of my LH Stainless Classics and the empty factory box the rifle came in for $375. More often, I get asked to sell one of my rifles but I'm just not parting with any.

Best of success in your search.

Ok, I'll keep a lookout for my buddy. It sounds like $1,500 to $2,500+ depending on cartridge, quality of Walnut and whether or not it comes with a scope.

Thank you.

I fact I wouldn't own ANY LH Model 70. All 5 of mine suck and don't shoot. I keep trying to give them away, but they are so bad no one wants them.
I couldn't possibly let mine go for any less than $650.01. whistle

And them some. These lefty rifles are very expensive.

I had one friend who spent about $2,000 for one just around the time that Winchester stopped production in New Haven.
