I see some of this on the shelf at reasonable prices and understand that it is a medium fast burn rate powder and ranked close to Big Game and reloader 15 in the burn rate tables which should make it fairly versatile , but I never hear about anyone using the stuff. What say ye ?

It seems to be between H414, and 380. If you're looking for a 22-250 powder it's not bad, but nothing spectacular. I wasn't able to get it to shoot well in a .243, or souper with lighter bullets like you'd expect from a powder in that burn rate. Personally, prefer RL 15, or 760 for that range of powders.

2700 is a great powder that's in the Re15/WW760/H414 burning rate area. It's a small spherical powder that meters like water.

Like any powder, your targets will tell you if your barrel likes it.

Good shootin'. -Al

I had pretty good results with it in a 20" barrel Model 70 lightweight carbine chambered in 30-06. It gave very good velocity with 150 gr bullets. Accuracy was decent, too.

Back when I owned a Swift, 2700 worked really well. But my chest got tired being puffed out all the time, and the knowing glances were embarrassing. So the gun was sold.

I've had superb results in the .220 Swift with AA2700.

Interesting powder that was, I believe, produced by Israeli Military Industries. Good stuff.

Before Western Powders bought them, the Accurate powders were mostly surplus powders manufactured overseas in various places. This often resulted in variation between lots, or even running our of powder.

These days they're manufactured specifically for Western, which has upped consistently and quality.

I just bought my first LB of 2700 for a new .243 Remington 700. This is good information. kwg

Worked fine in my 220 Swift with 50 grain bullets.
