no contest, The Moody Blues when they came to Rapid City SD in the 90's and did their concert accompanied by the Rapid City symphony orchestra. Finest I've ever heard and the nevered bothered to go to another as after that all would be disappointing.Magnum Man

Magdeline's Karma-my son's teen hard rock band. They played at a youth center called The Garage in Burnsville, Mn. a few times. 'Couldn't understand a word they were screaming, but he was having an absolute ball, and that was enough for me. He was a pretty darned good bass player.

Saw that same tour in Clemson at Little John. Awesome time.:-)

Same year Lynard Skynard came to Furman with Free Bird. The Stories were the headliner. Fans booed them off the stage and brought Skynard back on.

Dad promoted C&W so saw and had a late night tuck stop breakfast with every perfomer of his time. Waylon, Willie, Dolly, Johnny, Jerry LEE, Conway, Porter, Bama........you name 'em and I've seen 'em.

Grew up partying with Marshal Tucker just up the road. Best free concert going at the time.

Interesting you mention that because Skynard was leaving the Greenville, SC concert the night of the crash. Felt like I had just lost a friend.

Eric Clapton at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh. Sometime in the early 90s. Amazing musician and an equally impressive show.

Best was California Jam 1. I was working sound for Cerwin Vega. See that sound tower off the end of Richie Blackmore's headstock? I'm on it, pushing 10KW of audio.

Though I was baking in the daytime sun, the night before was sound check. I got to sit in front of the stage for all the bands. It was a great evening.

Local's like Carlos Santana, The Grateful Dead, Boz Skaggs, The Doobie Brothers, Jefferson Starship ( I'm too young for the former), Huey Lewis, as well as the "unknown" locals like Eddy Money, Norton Buffalo, Wet Willie, Elvin Bishop and on and on. I saw them all, many multiple times. Oh the blues bit too, like a young Steve Miller, Bonnie Raitt, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker... My treasured California days that still carry the great music but lost a whole lot else, unfortunately.

A favorite I first saw in Chico where my sister was attending college. I was 15. He was a pup too. Great pheasant and walnut hunting too. grin

In the 70s, definitely KISS (pyrotechnics were awesome).

In the 80s--- Timber Ridge Ski Resort in Michigan(1983?). One show, in order:

Ratt
Accept
Nightranger
Motley Crue
Quiet Riot
Ozzy
Triumph

In 90s--1992 Lollapalooza:

RH Chili Peppers
Pearl Jam
Jesus and Mary Chain
Soungarden
Ice Cube
Lush
Ministry
(some others too)

Since then, I would now trade one good Buddy Guy or Pink Floyd show for all of them. Have seen both several times.......

Communists: I still hate them even after they changed their name to "liberals".

Very cool. I saw RB play for Rainbow in Tokyo for the Difficult To Cure tour as well as with Deep Purple for Perfect Strangers. Underrated guitarist.

For the guy who saw Hendrix: color me jealous.

Best concert -- Garth Brooks.

Only one I've ever brought binoculars to -- Shania Twain.
