Got this in the other day and couldn't wait to try it out. First impressions were it has a huge field of view, nearly 4 times that of the 1.5-5 I was so familiar with. The crosshairs are thicker than standard duplex but not as thick as their heavy duplex. Yet I still managed sub moa groups and hits on small targets at 200 yards. The glass is clear and the scope is a bit bigger than the 1.5-5's. The firedot reticle is daylight bright. It's real similar to my Aimpoint. Of course the dot can be dialed down to nothing and turned off if not needed. It has a 5 minute shutoff feature if not moved, once you move the gun, it comes right back on. Kind of neat. They are CDS compatable and come with a coupon for a free custom dial. I chrono'd my gun today and will call for my custom dial Monday. I really like this scope, it was expensive but not as bad as some of the low powered variables. At $899 it puts it kind of in the middle of the low powered illuminated variables. I'll ring it out when I get more time but I think I've found the perfect all around carbine optic.

Oh almost forgot, the eye relief stays the same throughout power range.
It's also listed as a true 1x scope but as I said in another thread, too many lenses and parrallex prevent it from being used like a red dot can be and use irons through the scope. The front sight is out of focus just enough to really prove this.
But out at across the room distance, the dot does catch your eye and the Bindon Aiming Concept will work.

Thanks for the review, I've been thinking of buying this same scope for my Montana 338 Fed but havent seen many reviews. I didn't know the eye relief is the same all the way through (like my Zeiss) which i like. I think you just helped me spend $1K

Thanks for the review. I've been trying to figure out if I am going to buy that scope or just sell my AR and rebuild when prices settle down.
I think a lot of the 3 gun guys are gonna go to these. It'll be the next step up from the Burris level 1-4s, I bet.

Well TWR just cost me more money. I've got one on the way. It's the Multigunner model, I'll let y'all know how the reticle compares when it arrives.

I called yesterday and ordered the custom dial, first time I've had a tech ask me how I liked the scope. I think they're kind of proud of this one.
I also got the BC caps in and when I was putting them on I noticed on the bottom of the scope says, "U.S. designed, machined, assembled" I kinda like that.
Sorry I cost you some money, not! It's a good scope.

Sounds like it would be perfect on a 375 as well. Have to get past April taxes and might have to grab one of these also.

I've got another carbine with an Aimpoint Micro on it and a spare LaRue mount in the drawer, tis very tempting to order another but I'd have to sell a few more things first.
After I have a little more time on this one I might just do it.

TWR,
I have that scope with the #4 German with Fire Dot.
It sure looks good on your AR platform.
To me, the VX-6 is a very sleek and streamlined scope, although larger than 1" scopes. The glass is first class, pushing the Alpha Euros, IMHO.
I haven't gotten my CDS yet, waiting to work up the right load. I have a VX-3 CDS, but understand the VX-6 CDS is different.
Let us know how it goes and I would like to see pictures of the CDS when you get it installed.

I'll have to check on how many moa per turn, I know the dials are bigger than my VX3 CDS scopes.

The dial has a roll pin in it for a zero stop but nothing on the scope to stop it.
Gotta call em tomorrow.

Gotta call em tomorrow. Keep us in the loop on that one. I've yet to order mine, so I do appreciate anything you learn about the VX-6 CDS. DF

Just got off the phone, there was supposed to be a letter stating why but anyway here's the scoop. They had some issues with their zero stop on the VX6 and are redesigning the stop, I was told to call back in 6 weeks to see if its been resolved. When they do get it resolved, they will cut a new dial.
So for now, I just put the covered dial back on. While I have a bolt gun or two without zero stop and have never moved then unintentionally, I'd prefer the AR to have one.

Guess I need to wait a while before ordering my VX-6 CDS turrets.
Seems Leupy rolled that one out before it was quite done. I do like the VX-6 scopes a bunch, so I'm patiently gonna wait them out on the CDS.
Thnx again.
