What a bunch of selfish bastards. If I know anything, I know you take care of the guy doing much of the cooking first.

Yup, Pat is the one.

Every year at the Hog Hunt, I worry that the owner will kidnap Pat in order to get him to cook for them permanently.

On the other hand, trying to force Pat to do something he does not want to do could result in some very serious damage. Guess I should not worry too much about the kidnapping.

And the time, effort, talent and money that both Pat and Bob put into making the hunt both enjoyable and memorable is incredible. We owe them both, big time.

I have not been to one of these yet, but I believe what you are saying about these guys and what they bring and do. I like that idea really well. On the other ideas for 'awarding' knives, I am pretty sure they were all in jest.

I was worried about that last year. It's worth attending for the food alone. Pat has some kinda skill with da cookin'.

My barbeque skill lies with turning perfectly good hambugers and steaks into cajun style briquettes. I am REALLY hoping to learn a thing or two here, grilling and other outdoor cooking being one of the man skills that I have yet to aquire.

Speaking of food. smile As most of you know, we keep the cost down on these things by cooking our own meals at night, which we enjoy also. The menu so far looks like this.

Wednsday...Gourmet burgers and hot dogs, courtesy of Bob and Dan.

Thursday...BBQ hog with boudin and stuff.

Friday...Cajun shothered pork and gravy, mashed potatos, etc.

Saturday...Brisket and pork tacos.

As most of you are eager to contribute, we have compiled a shopping list of things that we will need that we don't already have. If you are able to help out, let us know what you can bring and I'll tag your handle beside the items. Thanks!

Pat, since we will be arriving on Friday, keep me posted on any resupplying that may be needed. I'd be more than happy to be the reinforcements!

When Rattler gets here we will consult the list and go buy some stuff that won't ruin on our 3 day drive journey.

I had no earthly idea that so much of the cooking was going to be done by just a couple of guys. Wow, that is just way cool of ya'll. Do we need to bring our own food for breakfast and lunch meals, snacks etc?

I wish our Walla Walla Sweet onions were avaialble to bring but it is too early. I cannot eat ANY onions or peppers of any kind anymore but would have been happy to bring some if there were any ready to go for others to enjoy.
