I switched mine (454) over to a ghost ring rear and fiber optic red front from Steve's Gunz last year. I found target visibility to be really good for hunting applications and pretty accurate on paper to 50 yards. I feel I could have shot game to a max of 100 yards, but that would have been my absolute limit with that setup.
I recently switched to a scout mount rail (again off Steve's website), as the rifle was already drilled and tapped for this and put a 4x fixed power pistol scope on her. Now 100 yards is an easy shot, but I do feel I have given up some quickness in an "Oh sh-t" situation - I live in griz country. But considering that I'm much more likely to have the opportunity for a 100 yard +/- shot on game than have a bear emergency, I find the trade off more than acceptable.
The rifle feels and looks good with both setups IMO. I am really happy with it.

+1 on Steve.
The '92, while not the best choice for fast action like in cowboy action shooting, is one of the best for high intensity rounds. For example, has anyone seen a .454 in a Marlin...
The '92 is very strong, stronger than Marlin.

I have one just like yours, medallion and all. Mines in 44mag though. Yours is the only other one I've seen with the Puma medallion. Tomcatt

Anyone seen one of these "for sale"..??? I would prefer the .44 but a .357 would go nicely with the hand-cannon Taurus I have. Would save carrying two different types ammo..
