I know what you mean. I had that issue in reverse last time. I ended up reversing the front mount on the S & K in order to mount the VX-3 further forward. Dang I love the looks of it.

Does anyone know if the S&K rings will fit Conetrol bases? I thought I had read here on the Fire earlier that they would. I've got several Sako's with Conetrol's and would like to try the S&K's. Would be easier and cheaper to use my existing Conetrol bases.

Indeed! I just horse traded into a Zeiss, and am in need of a set of rings/bases. These could be the ticket.

Well I went and ordered a set for my do everything rifle. I have yet to be steered wrong by the fire'.
I will be sending this set to be coated in black T along with a barreled action. So I won't be able to mount it just yet, but they sure look slick.

Oh by the way, I called the manufacturer and they were happy to answer all my questions; even the dumb ones  I was very impressed
