I am looking at a model 670 243 I belevie it is a carbine model because it has no iron sights. Are they accurate ? What would one in good shape be worth?

The Winchester 670 was a lower cost version of the standard 70. In 243 it would have been built on a long action with a blocked magazine. Without shooting it, you won't how accurate it might be. I wouldn't pay more than $400, even if it was NIB.

I had one in 30-06. It was very accurate. Can't say for the one you are looking at though.

I had a couple of them in the past . Killed my first deer with the 30-06 and loaned a 243 to my boss for his son who got his first deer with it. I never got that one back. He just came into my office and said " how much". I think I sold it for what I had in it about $175 but that was years ago. Nice enough guns but 260Remguy is correct

Okay thanks. The guy wants 475.00 with a cheap Tasco or Bushnell scope. The gun is in 95-98% condition.

There are few push-feed Win 70s that I'd pay that kind of $$ for; the 70 Mannlichers and some of the non-cataloged or one year rifles, like the 70 Lightweight Carbine in 250 Savage. The scope probably doesn't have any value. Maybe you could offer him a price you think is fair.

Even as much as i liked my 670 I would have a hard time paying $475 for it.

I've owned about three or four Model 670 rifles...Sold them all..Even the carbines felt heavy and blocky.
