Gents:

Do you have any pics of 130-150ish muleys that you could post, please? Particularly if they are along side another smaller buck to compare.

Just helping me daughter get a handle on ground shrink...:)

thx

I'd say these bucks, at a guess, go from between 120-160, bottom to top.

Hope this helps.

130ish with fairly small body
[Linked Image]

150ish...pathetic mass and crabby back forks, otherwise he would be 170ish

oddball angle...this buck was right around 130, looks smaller here

thank-you gents, those are most helpful, particularly the contrast betwixt the small and larger.

I imagine it won't be long and she will take to instructing me...:)

This is my muzzleloader buck from this year. Maybe 140's? I haven't taped it out because it really doesn't matter. I decided to have it mounted based on the beauty of the cape.

Cool buck azrugerude. One wouldn't guess that's a 140ish buck at first glance. Nice spread and cool forks....

This one is mid 150's... He would've been really good in a year or two, but I just couldn't pass him up! grin

This one hasn't been measured, but I'd say it's 140"-150"..

This hasn't been measured either. It had decent mass and good back forks, but very short mainbeams. But it was a dang good first mulie. smile

Thanks Gents, am passing them along. The comparisons help a lot.

For a girl growing up hunting MI whitetails and now transplanted to CO, looking at Cabela's Mule Deer heads doesn't quite translate to the field...:)

Muzzle loader buck I took in 1977. Had it scored in 2000 and it was 151 3/8. Made ML book. Has the distinction of having the narrowiest inside spread in the book at 14". Distance between the closest tines at top is between 3 and 4 inches.

This South Dakota muley was felled on public land with my Glenfield 30-30 carbine.
