Here is a McMillan Mauser stock I put on my FN Belgian Browning.

Nice stock, handles well.

That, is a HVA action, a "smallring" and one of the nicer sporting bolt actions ever made, IMO. I have two fine custom light rifles on it and would have a few more built if I were 15-20 years younger....

A Micky Mauser WILL fit, just needs a good man with "plastic handles" to fit it and the most cost effective and very sound stock for this rifle would be a Bansner. I would send them the barreled action and have them do the work.

Hi Kutenay,

That is a 1959 Safari Grade in 3006. It was an honest hunting rifle that shot very well until the stock cracked.

I've only recently got it shooting the way I want it to since I had it reblued and stocked.

I'm a little confused, by sending it to Bansner do you mean sending it over to http://www.hightech-specialties.com/ ? I am very green in the area of custom stocks and rifles. Outside of throwing a barreled action in a McMillan I have ZERO experience.

Yes, it would be a much simpler and risk free approach to having your rifle restocked to just have the pros at "High Tech" do the whole installation.

They CAN, btw, shorten the forearm to some extent and also reshape it to an "English" style as one of my Bansners is on one of my custom Brno 21/22 series .280 Rem. rifles and this is SO nice, especially on the 55mm bbl. of your fine little Husqy.

A Micky MKX style in "Edge" would also fit, but, my choice here for aesthetic and practical reasons would be the Bansner/High Tech.

Thanks at $800 to fit a stock that is more than I have in the gun and scope. I'll just have to wait a year or so before I sink that amount of money into it.

I know that $800 seems high but at least you'll know it was done right. Right ow I have a neat Husqvarna FN style Mauser action that I'm trying to decide if it should be a 338-06 or should I make up another .35 Whelen. Probably be the latter.
Have ur cerakoted or some similar weather protection process and be more than good to go for elk. I just might leave it as an 06.

Oh I don't disagree with you. Just not into dropping that kind of money on it yet. Will probably add a recoil pad to it and hunt it as is for a year or so.

Right now it is planed to be back up for the Mod 70 EW i'm buying from BSA sort of a wood and blue to compliment the Mcky Edge and stainless of the EW. Oh and it wears a M8 4x where the M70 has a VX3 3.5-10 CDS kind of an old school / new school thing going on. At least that is what I'm telling myself.

forgot to add, the 338-06 rocks. I want one, but can't bring myself to mess with any 30-06 I have.
