When was this rifle manufactured?
Thanks in advance.

How about this one?

It is a 99F 308 that we purchased used in ~ 1969.
So it should be older that that.
It has no lever boss marking either.
When was it made?
Thanks in Advance.

Mike, Thanks.
What was I thinking?
My brother was 14, born in 1959, so it was 1973 when we got the used 99F. So when we got it, it was 4 years old.

I drove my brother to the range, Renton fish and game.
The adult men in jackets with NRA patches at the range said he could shoot that 99 better with open sights than they could shoot their rifles with a scope. He had 20/10 vision. Now 40 years later, he wears glasses.

Great story! I can identify with him. Similar situation. Do you ever go to the WAC gun shows in Puyallup?

Simply splendid! I wish I had your kind of luck. Never been to the Monroe show but have been attending the Puyallup since '86. Must have missed what you found as I've never bought a 99 at the show. Have seen a lot of over priced junk but nothing that made me want to open my wallet. Mostly buy bulk bullets and brass and other odds and ends and a few handguns. Got my FFL the same year I started attending the WAC shows. It helps a bunch. To all the other members sorry for the semi-hijack.

I got this Springfield 840 30-30, which is really a Savage 340 in 2005 at Puyallup for $75.

There is a Monroe show this morning, but some freeways are closed and the stock market is going up faster than guns right now.

Looks like the hijack will continue.

Nice pick up for that price. What with my former work schedule and now my present lack of funds I haven't been attending the shows as often as I should have. Hopefully things will get right and in the near future I'll be attending more shows. While there's a lot of off gun show topic junk at most of the shows with over a 1,000 tables every month sooner or later you've got to come up with something worth buying. Spent this morning and most of the afternoon pressure washing the patio and several concrete curbs and block walls that we have around our property. My back is killing me. Shoulda let the wife do it. grin Time would have been better spent at the Monroe show. wink grin
