I'm curious of those furloughed due to the sequester, who they hold responsible for the political decision. I would imagine most here on The 'Fire would say Obama and the Dems, but I wonder if that is the overarching feeling or not - I guess I am really wondering about the political impact.

Here is the problem. If all government paid employees - I DID NOT SAY WORKERS - actually worked 40 hours a week there would be no need for 70% of those employees.
If any department or office of government emloyees cannot complete ALL the work that needs to be done in any given day, week, or month THEY should be furloughed and unemployed people who understand that it is a priveledge and blessing to work hard for a living should be given their jobs - permanently!
Just a suggestion.

At that rate, you'll work more than the 2,080 hours per year most people working a 40 hour week work.

So, my wife's furloughed as well. She loses 20% of a very comfortable wage...which is still a very comfortable wage and since we've scrimped and saved and put away a bucket load of money, she's not complaining. Of course, if the democrats have their way, our savings will not amount to a fart in a whirlwind! But for now, we're not hurting because we've been frugal, have no debt and understand that for some people sacrifice is easier than for others.

we can take it all at one time if we want. just have to do 11 days by the end of Sept. For all of you putting all govt workers into the same category, you can kiss my ass. I'm a dual status technician in the Air Guard. I've spent 6 months in Iraq getting shot at daily, several months in the nastiest part of Pakistan and some time in Afghanistan. I can remember getting a 10 second shower about every 3 days in Pakistan. Also Qatar and Kuwait which was a picnic compared to the rest. Since 2001, close to 3 years overseas. How many of you can say the same? If you have, thanks, if not, shut the hell up.
