The Baer in your pics looked coated?. If so, what with? Thanks That is the older Baercoat. Nice finish. I really like the Melonite. Very different finish and tougher than nails. And I'm a huge fan of hard chrome. The reissue Series 70 is in line for 2013 for a full-house custom job with this local guy http://www.reidpistolsmithing.com

Nothing fancy about mine, a stainless Kimber Compact, circa 2000. The Kimber on top was a graduation present for Daughter #3 when she graduated law school at Iowa. Has the laser grip. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/Pistols-2.JPG) The other, of course are not 1911's at all. One is the gun I carry in the car daily, a Browning BDM 9mm. The Walther .380 PPK/S gets carried on my person more than any other and is in my pocket as I write, a time zone and then some away from home.

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.
A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

Mine is a step down from the others, and it rides on the dash year round so it's a little scratched up, but never a hiccup. ![[Linked Image]](http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a552/ad82208/0729131518_zpse7de407e.jpg)

The gun on the left is a Les Baer Custom Carry - the pistol on the right is a Colt that was lightly customized by Ed Brown from the early 80's when he was a one-bench pistolsmith. ![[Linked Image]](http://imageshack.us/a/img195/9315/009tz.jpg)
