It's also a sears model 103 something or other, or a JC Higgins something or other; anyway, its an old bolt action tube fed 22.

Gun belongs to my daughter-in-laws father and the guy will be missing squirrel season if I can't get it worked out.

Looks like this:

Note, there were a whole bunch of variations of this gun, believe all the tube fed guns use the same carrier.

Try the marlin section under rimfirecentral.com. Someone over there can probably trouble shoot what's wrong with the cartridge carrier. I had problems with mine and someone over there had the answer for me. Works like a charm now.

Looks like everybody is out at the moment and that is reflected in what they are going for. I just bought one for a friend last night on Fleabay that was described as "new" and paid $40 bucks including shipping. There are a couple three more on there now including this one :

Good Luck!

I know what's wrong with it. Tips broke off.

It's going to take a replacement, OR my metal working skills are going to need a big bump.

Thanks for the link, Joe. I saw the ebay prices, and for what they go for, he could pick up a used rifle in decent condition. But he hand painted the stock/scope etc, and its his favorite.

We've all been there.
