The Speers are excellent bullets.I have also found the 220's a bit hard,even on these Alberta deer.The 180 can be pushed to 2700 fps without issue,and work great at that speed.I have found the 220's abit more accuratte,shooting around 1",while the 180's go between 1 and 1.5".I think you will really get to love this rifle.By the way,what are you doing for sights.
Oh yeah,I also you h4198 exclusivley,it works great.

Hawk bullets makes a 250gr .358" FP this might be a good defense load for bears, although a nice hard cast of about 240grs and up wouldnt be bad also, www.hawkbullets.com
