elmo Campfire Greenhorn E Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 42 Paloma, CA	Custom Savage 99 E .308 Black Walnut stock with Ebony Schnabel, Ebony grip cap, and Ebony trim on top of forend at barrel level. Stock is finished with West System Marine epoxy, with a satin Varathane UV topcoat. All inner surfaces have been fiberglass bedded. Totally impervious to moisture inside and out. Barreled action was sent out and KG Gun Kote was professionally applied. XS System Ghost Ring sights. Millett Flush Mount Sling Swivel system. I built this rifle to hunt Wisconsin whitetail in the harsh weather they have up there, where a scope can sometimes be a liability, and the shots are often close range. It wasn�t meant to be a safe queen, but wound up that way anyway. I'm pretty certain when we sing our anthem and mention the land of the free, the original intent didn't mean cell phones, food stamps and birth control.
